A Regional Summer Youth Camp has taken place in Lagodekhi, Georgia. The camp happened between 25-30 July, under the leadership of Regional Youth Officer Captain Rezo Bakhtadze. In total 72 young people, who are connected to Salvation Army centres in Georgia attended the camp. To facilitate the numbers the camp was held over two sessions. A team of volunteers helped in the camp with everything from cooking, supervising river trips to leading seminars and small groups.
The activities of the week provided a good balance for the young people. There were seminars on Time, Hobbies, Habits and Relationships, free time for games, trips to the nearby National Park, and worship and prayer sessions.
For many of these young people the city is the only environment they know, a few days in Lagodekhi will be the only holiday they have. The Salvation Army in Georgia are grateful for the leaders who gave their time, for people who prayed and for corps in the UK who have made donations to upgrade the facilities. We give glory to God for a great few days.
