It is with a mixture of deep sadness and joy that we share that Major Veaceslav (Slava) Cotruta was Promoted to Glory on Thursday 1st<\/sup>\u00a0April, 2021.<\/p>

Major Slava was loved throughout the Eastern Europe Territory and throughout the Salvation Army worldwide.\u00a0 His love of life and people, his sense of humour, his love for God, and his love for the Salvation Army shone through every aspect of his life.<\/p>

You didn\u2019t need to spend much time with Major Slava before you would call him your friend. He would make you laugh with his many stories and you knew beyond a doubt that he enjoyed being with people and sharing his love of life and ministry.<\/p>

All those who interacted with him couldn\u2019t help but be aware of his deep love for God which was the source and motivation of his joy. \u00a0<\/p>

Major Slava was commissioned along with the love of his life, Major Elena, as a Salvation Army Officers in the year 2000 and once Commissioned, he and Elena served in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine Divisions before being appointed in 2020 as the Secretary for Business Administration (Slava) & Secretary for Programme (Elena) for the Eastern Europe Territory.<\/p>

As a member of the Territorial Cabinet, Slava\u2019s wisdom, insight and knowledge of the Territory was highly respected and valued.\u00a0 His ability to embrace new ideas with an understanding of what was required to see the Kingdom of God grow was indeed a gift to The Salvation Army and a reminder of his desire to see men, women and children come to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. \u00a0Even in his final days people saw Jesus in him and responded in accepting faith in Christ.<\/p>

Major Veaceslav Cotruta is now in the presence of his Lord and I am sure he has heard the words \u201cwell done, good and faithful servant\u2019. Please continue to pray for Major Elena and for their son Veaceslav (Jnr) and for Slava\u2019s family.<\/p>

I am sure that Heaven is a far more joyful place because of his presence.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
